Georgi Talmazov, DDS, MSD, is a dedicated Prosthodontist at the Centers for Specialized Dentistry, where he provides comprehensive care specializing in full mouth reconstructions, dental implants, and cosmetic dentistry. Inspired by his aunt's dental work in Bulgaria, Dr. Talmazov developed an early passion for helping others through clinical practice, art, and science.

Education and Experience

Dr. Talmazov began his academic career at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. He continued at the VCU School of Dentistry to attain his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Following dental school, he completed three years of intensive post-graduate training at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, earning a Certificate of Prosthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) to gain expertise in treating the most complex dental cases.

His specialized training also included a residency at MD Anderson's Oral Oncology and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics department, where he gained vital experience as part of the healthcare team for oral cancer patients.

Clinical Philosophy and Innovation

As a self-described "smile architect & engineer," Dr. Talmazov believes in a patient-centric approach that uniquely tailors therapy to the individual needs of every person. He strives to use the latest evidence-based techniques to restore a patient's ability to speak clearly, enjoy food, and present a confident smile.

Dr. Talmazov is deeply involved in dental technology and research. He has developed and researched open-source implant planning software to help increase provider access to predictable dental implant therapy. His contributions to the field include multiple publications in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the Journal of Dentistry, and the Journal of Prosthodontics. He also lectures on topics such as guided implant dentistry and optimizing the esthetic outcomes of dental implants.

Dr. Talmazov's commitment to scientific excellence has been recognized with awards from the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) and research grants from the American Association for Dental Research (AADR). He remains an active member of several professional organizations, including:

Personal Life

Outside of the office, Dr. Talmazov and his wife, Alexis, enjoy traveling to explore new cultures, volunteering, and spending time with their dog, Loki. In his free time, he is an avid reader and writer.
